(362 words) Parents are the most important people in our lives. They teach us, guide, help us when we need it. Of course, in each family the learning process develops in its own way, but there are universal life lessons that all children must pass under the guidance of mothers and fathers. What are these lessons? We will answer this question with the help of domestic literature, where the fundamental moral values are laid down, which are transmitted to each other by many generations of our compatriots.
In the novel by A. S. Pushkin “The Captain's Daughter”, the father taught his son “to guard honor from a young age”. The stern father did not spare his heir and sent him to serve in a distant fortress under the strict supervision of Uncle Savelich. The old man understood that the words would not have the proper effect on the young racket, if not backed up with deeds - army dressing in the outback of Russia. In the house, Petrusha was loved and cherished, here he could only be spoiled by idle days spent without a purpose. Therefore, the father equipped his only son on a long journey, providing him with the right instructions. It is they who are guided by Peter when he refuses to swear allegiance to a rebel, when he risks his life to help other people and fulfill his duty in relation to his homeland. Selflessness, devotion and courage were taught by his parent. It was these life lessons that determined Grinev’s happy fate, which means they should be the basis of upbringing in every family.
Another example was described by L. N. Tolstoy in the epic novel War and Peace. The Rostovs taught their children kindness, responsiveness, courage and generosity. Nicholas and Peter became loyal and courageous defenders of the fatherland, they demonstrated phenomenal courage on the battlefields. Natasha, too, repeatedly showed kindness and sympathy, her character combined the best features of the family. Even Sonia’s pupil Rostov absorbed all the virtues of her relatives: her willingness to sacrifice herself, modesty, and the ability to love very much. And all because the parents showed the children a good example throughout their lives. For example, the father gave the last money to pay off his son's card debt in order to protect his honor. Of course, there is nothing to be surprised that Nikolai himself disinterestedly helped Princess Bolkonskaya to leave the combat zone. He acquired the nobility, watching his father. It is such virtues as responsiveness, generosity and courage that parents must pass on to their children.
Thus, fathers should teach children to be kind, noble and helpful people in any, even the most difficult situation. They must pass on to the heirs those fundamental moral values that their ancestors honored so that the eternal moral guidelines would not be lost in the cycle of change.
