Salbyarg, daughter of Kari, becomes Ulva's wife, nicknamed Queldulv ("Evening Wolf"). They have two sons - Torolv and Grim.
Harald, nicknamed Shaggy, defeats neighboring kings and becomes the sovereign king of Norway. At his insistence, Kveldulv sends Torolv's son to him; Kveldulv himself believes that Harald will do much harm to his family, but Torolv can act in his own way. And Torolv leaves.
A man named Bjargolv has a son named Brunjolv. In old age, Biargolv takes a woman named Hildirid and plays an incomplete wedding with her, because her father is an indifferent person. Byargolva and Hildirid are born two sons, Harek and Hrerek. Bjargolv dies, and as soon as he is taken out of the house, Brunjolv tells Hildirid and his sons to go away. Brunjolv has a son named Bard, he and the sons of Hildirid are almost the same age. The bard marries Sigrid, the daughter of Sigurd.
In the fall, Bard and Thorolv, son of Kveldulva, arrive at Harald King and accept them well. They become the warriors of the king. In winter, Brunjolv dies, and Bard receives the whole inheritance. That same winter, King Harald gives the last battle and takes control of the whole country. Torolv and Bard bravely fight and get many wounds. But Torolv’s wounds begin to heal, while Bard’s wounds become life-threatening. And he entrusts Torolv with his wife and son and gives all his property. After his death, Torolv disposes of Bard's estate and marries to Sigrid, Bard's wife. Having received consent, Torolv arranges a large wedding feast, and everyone sees that Torolv is a noble and generous man.
The sons of Hildirid come to Torolv and demand that they give back the good that used to belong to Bjargolv. Torolv replies that Bard did not consider them their legitimate sons, because their mother was abused and brought to her house as a captive, Bard did not recognize them, and he does not recognize them. That’s where the conversation ends.
In winter, Torolv with a large squad goes to the Lapps. He exacts tribute from them and at the same time trades with them. Tolorv gets a lot of good and becomes a powerful person.
In the summer, Torolv invites to his feast of the king. Konung sits in a place of honor, looks at numerous guests and is silent. Everyone sees that he is angry.
On the day of departure, Torolv calls the king ashore and there gives him a ship with a dragon's head. Konung and Torolv part as good friends.
The sons of Hildirid also invite the king to their feast. After the feast, Harek slams the king on Torolva - as if he wants to kill the king. Konung believes the words of Harek. Then the king goes his own way, and the sons of Hildirid come up with a business and go to the same place as the king, meet him here and there, and he always listens to them with attention. And now the people of the king begin to rob the ships of Torolv and oppress his people, and Torolv in response kills the people of the king.
Grim, the son of Kveldulva, takes Beru, daughter of Ingvar, as his wife. Grim is twenty-five years old, but he is already bald, and he is nicknamed Scallagrim ("Bald Grim").
Here once Torolv feasts with his retinue, and the king treacherously attacks him: surrounds his house and sets fire to it. But the people of Torolva break through the wall and go out. A battle ensues, and in it Torolv dies, He is buried with proper honors.
Kveldulv finds out about the death of his son, is sad, goes to bed, then he equips the ship, floats in Iceland and dies on the way. Scallagrim settles in Iceland.
At Skallagrim and Bera, the son of Torolv is born, similar to Torolv, the son of Kveldulv. Torolv is very funny, and everyone loves him.
Another son will be born to Scallagrim, and they give him the name Egil. He is growing up, and it is clear that he will be ugly and black-haired, like a father.
A man named Bjarn marries Thor, the sister of Thorir, against the will of her brother. Konung expels Bjarna from Norway. He goes to Iceland and is nailed to Skallogrim. There their daughter Asgerd is born.
Thorolv becomes attached to Bjarn. Scallagrim sends ambassadors to Thorir, and he, obeying their persuasion, forgives Bjarna. Bjarn returns to Norway, and his daughter Asgerd remains with Skallagrim.
In spring, Torolv and Bjarn equip ships and set off on a hike. In the fall they return with rich booty.
Konung Harald is getting old. His son Eirik, nicknamed the Blood Ax, is brought up by Thorir, and is very disposed to him.
Bjarn and Thorolw go to visit Thorir. There, Torolv gives his son a king a ship, and he promises him his friendship.
Eirik and Thorolw become friends. Eirik marries Gunnhild, she is beautiful, smart and can conjure.
In his patrimony, Scallagrim arranges a contest in strength and games. A seven-year-old Egil loses to a twelve-year-old boy, grabs an ax and cuts down an involuntary offender, and then says visu (a poetic phrase).
At the age of twelve, Egil leaves with Torolv.
Arriving in Norway, Torolv and his brother go to Bjarn to hand him his daughter Asgerd. Thorir still has a son named Arinbyarn. Egil is friends with him, but there is no friendship between brothers.
Soon Torolv asks Asgerd, daughter of Bjarna, for his wife. Having received consent, he goes to collect everyone at the wedding feast. But Egil falls ill and cannot go. And Torolv leaves without him. Egil, having recovered, goes after him. On the way, he kills the king man. Upon learning of this, the king orders to kill Aegil. Torolv and Egil equip a large warship and make several campaigns. Then they enter the service of the English king Adadstein. Adalstein is cunning, he smashes the kings who opposed him. But in these battles Torolv dies. Egil buries his brother with all honors. Konung Adelstein gives Egil a golden wrist and two chests with silver. Egil is amused and speaks visu.
In the spring, Egil goes to Norway, where he finds out that Torir died, and his inheritance passed to Arinbyarn. Arinbyarn Egil spends the winter.

One day, the news comes to Egil that Bjarn died, and his lands passed to his son-in-law Berganund, to whom King Eirik and his wife Gunnhild very much favored. Egil decides to regain these lands, and Asgerd goes with him to Norway.

In autumn, king Hakon begins to rule in Norway. Egil decides to secure the return of property that after Berganund is owned by his brother Utley Short. He comes to King Hakon and asks to give his wife Asgerd the property that Bjarn once owned. Hakon favorably meets Aigil.
Egil comes to Utley Short and calls him to the ting. At the throne, Egil demands that Bjorn's property be returned to him and offers to resolve the lawsuit by fight. In martial arts, Egil kills Utley and speaks visu.

Then he composes a memorial song to Badward. Egil had another son, Gunnar, but he also died. Egil celebrates fever for both sons.
